Our organic beef comes from a herd of over 600 Organic Aberdeen Angus cattle. This is a closed herd, which means that no breeding animals are bought in from the open market. This is important in terms of keeping the herd healthy and BSE-free. Instead, breeding takes place within the herd and calves are suckled by their natural mothers until weaned.
The cattle live outside all year round and graze herb-rich meadow pasture and are fed on silage and hay. We hang our beef on the farm in the traditional way, ensuring deeply flavoured, beautifully marbled, deliciously tender meat that is wonderful to cook with and even better to eat.
